Earthwork software

Turn the earthwork plan into a daily crew record.

Your takeoff defines the quantities. CutFill keeps assignments, machines, job time, and foreman closeout connected while the work is underway.

Earthwork takeoff versus earthwork operations

Before the work

Keep the active job, crew, tasks, and machines together.

Model quantities and prepare the bid.

During the shift

Record job time, field notes, changes, and closeout.

Use your plans and quantity model as the reference.

At review

Review what was recorded on the job; it is not a surveyed volume certification.

Review the estimate in your estimating tool.

Operating layer

Keep the day’s work with the job.

Jobs and assignments

Keep the customer, crew, machines, and tasks on the same job.

Time by job

Record hours from the field and keep separate entries when someone changes jobs.

Equipment records

See the assigned operator, job, and recorded machine hours.

Field notes and closeout

Review photos, completed work, delays, and what the next shift needs to know.

A foreman records people and work at daily closeout; the office sees a single job-day record with reported loads and notes.

One foreman records the job-day, with the people, work, and notes underneath it. Detailed counts and area rules use Expanded Jobs.

  1. Review the people on the job.
  2. Record their work and day notes.
  3. Keep one primary job-day closeout.

The details that matter

Use earthwork records that explain the work on site.

The bid may start with quantities, but the operating day adds people, equipment, material movement, and changes. CutFill keeps that daily evidence with the job.

Onsite movement
Detailed closeout with Expanded Jobs records person work lines, cuts, fill splits, finish context, applicable counts, and notes. Operators do not each submit a competing job-day total.
Imported or exported material
Material Tracking records the supplier or disposal destination, carrier, order lines, quantities, acceptance, and ticket evidence. Keep tons, yards, loads, and gallons in their recorded units.
Equipment activity
Keep the current operator, job assignment, and entered machine records together. Fleet Maintenance adds issues, repair ownership, and service history when the machine needs attention.
Cost review
Live import/export unit cost is part of Material Tracking for owners/admins. It uses accepted quantities and entered cost coverage; broader earthwork production forecasting and job-cost dashboards remain planned.

Practical questions before you choose.

Is CutFill an earthwork takeoff tool?

No. Use your takeoff, survey, and machine-control tools for those tasks. CutFill manages the crews, machines, job time, field records, material tickets, and closeout around active earthwork.

How do onsite counts differ from supplier tickets?

Foreman closeout records onsite work and applicable counts. Material Tracking records imported or exported orders and tickets. A count of onsite water fills or haul cycles is not automatically a supplier delivery quantity.
